Kalamkaval (2025) is a Malayalam-language psychological crime thriller that marks the directorial debut of Jithin K. Jose. The film stars Mammootty in a chilling and experimental role, alongside Vinayakan.

Produced by Mammootty Kampany, the film was released theatrically on December 5, 2025, and later became available for streaming on SonyLIV.

Synopsis & Plot

The story is set in the early 2010s and begins in the quiet village of Kottayikonam. What starts as a routine police inquiry into a communal riot—sparked by the elopement of a local girl—quickly spirals into a much darker investigation.

Mammootty was initially offered the role of the main protagonist. After hearing the narration, he chose to take on the role due to its diverse characterization and later decided to produce the film himself. Upon release, the movie received a positive response from both critics and audiences.
