Nodidavaru Enantare (What Will People Say?)

Nodidavaru Enantare is a deeply personal film that explores identity, existence, and the quiet influence of how we are perceived by others. The idea came from a recurring question in my own life. Why do so many of our choices come from the need to be seen a certain way? Even when we try to live freely, we are often aware of how we appear in someone else’s eyes. The thought that still lingers with me is whether it is truly possible to live only for ourselves.

The title reflects this inner conflict. “What will people say?” is a question that most of us carry, consciously or unconsciously, and it shapes our decisions more than we realize.

The film follows a man who is still dealing with the emotional weight of childhood abandonment and strained relationships with his parents. These unresolved experiences begin to affect his work and personal life. In search of clarity, he decides to leave everything behind and travel. What begins as a physical journey across Karnataka and parts of Maharashtra slowly becomes a path of self-exploration, where he confronts his past and questions his sense of identity.

The making of the film was an extensive process that took over four and a half months. The shoot was spread across schedules and took place during the uncertainties of the COVID period, which brought its own set of challenges. The role demanded a significant physical transformation from the lead actor, and certain sequences required complex visual effects work.

The film is produced by Nagesh Gopal under Hippo and Kiddo Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd. It has been a collaborative effort with a committed team. Naveen Shankar, who plays the protagonist, brought immense dedication to the role. Apoorva Bharadwaj adds depth to the narrative, and veteran actor Padmavati Rao returns to Kannada cinema after many years with a powerful presence. The film also features lyrics by Jayant Kaikini and music by Mayuresh Adhikari. Cinematography by Ashwin Kennedy and editing by Manu Shedgar shape the visual and emotional rhythm of the story.

At its heart, Nodidavaru Enantare invites the audience to reflect on their own lives, their choices, and the silent question of who they are when no one is watching.
