What did María Luz Zamora Abanades  say about this film?

"If They See Me Crying" is the raw story of a mother (Carmen Mayordomo) who has lost her son. The boy (Óscar Rodríguez) could no longer bear the suffering caused by his classmates' harassment at school and, like other victims of bullying, decided to take his own life. The mother is tormented and blames herself for not seeing the situation correctly. She reconstructs what happened with her psychologist (Rosana Pastor), to whom she tells how the events unfolded. The teacher (Lola Moltó) also failed to act when the boy was attacked by his classmates. Nor did the girl he liked (Ana Gil) do anything for fear that the other children would also confront her.

The film unravels how everyone's inaction turns against each other when they realize it's too late. Everyone would have liked to prevent what happened, but no one did anything when they could, and now there are no second chances. The plot of this story, constructed from the mother's perspective, gives a very real picture of how the pattern of violence in the classroom is repeated, and how families, schools, and peers look the other way.

Malu Zamora decides to focus on a problem that plagues children, but requires the utmost attention from society as a whole. The story captivates the viewer, taking them by the hand of the mother's anguish as she pieces together her memories. The excellent performances of the actors, along with the mastery of lighting and imagery, create a film that will leave audiences indifferent.
