Towards the Invisible: An Inner Journey Toward Light directed by Luz María Mansilla.
“Towards the Invisible” emerges from the desire to understand how an ordinary human being can transform inner darkness into a path toward light. The film follows the journey of a man who, marked by a world of shadows, finds in the image of the Buddha and in the act of sculpting a possibility for inner transformation.
The work addresses universal themes such as the search for the meaning of life and the need for spiritual guidance. In this case, the figure of the Buddha represents a bridge toward a deeper dimension of existence: a world that we rarely manage to perceive, yet one that constitutes an essential reality. As the protagonist advances through his creative process, he also begins a silent journey toward self-recognition and toward that invisible presence that inhabits every human experience.
Rather than recounting external events, the film proposes a contemplative and sensory experience. Through silence, observation, and the manual shaping of matter, the protagonist slowly begins to perceive inner dimensions that cannot be rationally explained, yet form an essential part of existence. The film invites the viewer to pause, contemplate, and recognize their own areas of shadow, as well as the possibility of moving through them.
The visual approach is built through a symbolic and poetic language. The cinematography emphasizes the contrast between darkness and light as a reflection of the protagonist’s inner journey, while the mise-en-scène privileges contemplation and emotional experience over conventional narrative structure.
The project brings together primarily emerging professionals committed to reflective, sensitive, and artistically coherent cinema. “Towards the Invisible” aspires to become a space for introspection, contemplation, and encounter.
