LA CASA DE ELOY - ELOY’S HOUSE directed by Marta Ferreras Viruete

What did Marta Ferreras Viruete say about his film?
Eloy has been missing his painting class for a few days. His classmates, surprised, decide to go look for him at his house, but they don't know where he lives.
'Eloy's House' is a simple, naive, and moving short film, whose actors and actresses are mostly people with disabilities. Although the story is fictional, it is inspired by a real person, Eloy, and his brightly colored paintings. It arose from the need to confront, through artistic recreation, a sad event experienced in real life.
The short film was shot in a painting workshop, which is also real, and which has been taught for several years by Marta Ferreras, who is a painter in addition to being a filmmaker. Thus, this short film gradually transitions from reportage to fiction: the story begins by depicting an everyday reality and gradually acquires an unreal and magical quality, in which the changes in color carry expressive symbolism.
Awards
'Eloy's House' has already won two international awards: Best Drama Short at the Fescilmar Film Festival in Venezuela and Best International Short at the CVV Film Festival Vittorio Veneto in Italy.
Marta Ferreras, a Spaniard, has directed ten short films and one feature-length documentary to date. The majority of her cinematographic work is in a hybrid format, combining documentary, fiction, and animation. The actors and actresses, as well as the illustrators, are largely people with disabilities. The director, herself the mother of a child with a disability, intends to show that all people, regardless of their condition, can make positive contributions to society and to artistic creation.
