My Film Project: 60 Hours Filmmaking Challenge – Official Guidelines
1. 🎬 Category & Film Duration
Short Film: 3 to 10 minutes, including titles and credits.
Documentaries: 3 to 10 minutes, including titles and credits.
Reels: Vertical (portrait) orientation — instead of the traditional widescreen (16:9), it’s tall (9:16). Created for mobile-first viewing: Less than 3 minutes, including titles and credits.
Ads/PSA: Less than 2 minutes, including titles and credits.
2. 📆 Task, Time Limit & Deadline Compliance
Filmmakers must write, shoot, edit, and submit a complete short film within 60 hours from the official start time.
Countdown begins from the project kick-off announcement and ends precisely 60 hours later.
Films must be submitted within the 60-hour timeframe.
Late submissions will not be accepted or judged.
3. 📝 Mandatory Elements
To ensure the film is made during the challenge period, participants must include:
A theme or concept (announced at the start by the organizers )
A specific dialogue line
A prop or visual element
These will be revealed at the beginning of the 60 hours.
The following film production creative work must take place during official time frame , including but not limited to:
• Script development & screenplay writing, Casting, Costume & art direction & Principle shooting.
• Post-production including editing, color correction, VFX, Subtitling, Rendering & Mastering
• Sound/music production (teams can use licensed music).
The following pre-production work may begin prior to the MyFilmProject Official time frame is:
• Volunteer crew & cast arrangement.
• Equipment arrangements (Any camera format can be used; mobile can also be used to shoot film. Lights & grips are allowed)
• Location scouting (teams should sign location hiring form & complete legal formalities)
All costs associated with the production of the Entry are solely the responsibility of the applicant & team.
4. 👥 Eligibility & Team Participation
The My Film Project contest is open to filmmakers across the world. Participation will be accepted on a first come, first served basis
Open to individuals or teams.
No limit on team size, but one person must register as the team leader.
Multiple films can be submitted by different teams from the same institution or group..
5. 🌍 Language & Subtitles
Films can be in any language, but English subtitles are mandatory for non-English dialogues.
6. 🧑⚖️ Original Content Only
All content (script, music, visuals) must be original or properly licensed.
Plagiarism, copyright infringement, or using stock footage/music without permission will lead to disqualification.
7. 🚫 Prohibited Content
Work must not contain obscene or pornographic material; may not contain defamatory statements about any person, company, organization or entity; or promotes hate, violence, or illegal activities, may not invade privacy or other rights of any person, company or entity; may not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations; and may not contain any copyrighted elements (other than as owned by the applicant). Entries containing prohibited or inappropriate content will be disqualified from the contest.
8. 📤 Submission Format
Accepted formats: .mp4 or .mov
Resolution: Minimum 1080p HD or higher
Films must include My Film Project logo in the beginning of every film.
Submit movie via Google Drive / Wetransfer within timeframe at info@educationexpo.tv
Final copy of the screenplay along with cast & crew details, shooting stills & poster must be submitted at the time of final submission of film at info@educationexpo.tv
9. 🏆 Judging Criteria
Films will be judged based on:
- Artistic Judgement by Jury: Creativity & Originality, Storytelling & Screenplay, Direction & Cinematography, Acting & Performances, Editing & Sound Design & Integration of mandatory elements.
- Online judging by public on My Film Project official channel on YouTube for online awards.
- The decision of the Jury will be final & binding and can’t be challenged. By registering to be a Participant and signing the required agreement, the entrant agrees to abide by all provisions of this document.
10. 🎖️ Awards & Screenings
Selected films will be screened in partner festivals and promoted on digital platforms.
Selected films will be premiered on My Film Project official online channel. The participants are not allowed to upload it on any social platform however they can always embed & share movie link from My Film Project official channel.
Winning films will receive certificates, trophies, and special mentions.
One Certificate of participation / E-Certificate will be given per team. Additional certificate for team members can be ordered on nominal fee. The winners will be awarded with trophy & certificate. The postal charges are applicable in order to receive certificate/trophy via post.
11. ✅ Agreement
- To be certified as a “My Film Project film” each participating team’s film/video production must follow all rules herein. My Film Project organizers reserve the right to screen only certified “My Film Project films.” .
- By participating, filmmakers agree to allow the organizers to use their films for promotion, screening, and festival submissions.
- My Film Project reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who fails to comply with the provisions of this document in its sole discretion.
- MyFilmProject Competition is produced and administered by Education Expo TV organizers.
- Producers and Employees of My Film Project and their families are not eligible to participate in the contest. Employees of any partners or commercial sponsors and their families are also not eligible for participation.
- If a Team must withdraw from the contest, no refunds can be administered.
- My Film Project do not take any type financial commitment for the expense incurred on the correspondence / shooting/ post-production of project by the participant. All Travel, Lodging & Boarding and other miscellaneous expenses will have to be borne by the participant himself for attending the ceremony. No request for the same will be entertained.
