Synopsis

Set in the remote Adivasi village of Astamba, the film explores a deeply rooted belief system surrounding the sacred mountain of Astamba Rishi, a space traditionally forbidden to women. Each year during Diwali, the community gathers in devotion, reinforcing rituals passed down through generations. This year, however, a woman chooses to step beyond this boundary. Her act is not loud or confrontational, but quiet and deeply personal. Through an observational lens, the film stays close to the community—its elders, believers, and the woman at the center—capturing the subtle tension between tradition and change. Rather than offering conclusions, the film allows the audience to witness a society at a crossroads, asking whether faith is defined by boundaries or by devotion.
