“Atithi Devo Bhava” defines how Indians treat guests, with warmth and respect. The campaign uses this cultural truth as a creative lens to reinterpret behaviours that enable mosquito breeding as acts of welcoming them. This led to the central idea, “Machhar Hai Mehmaan Nahi.” A simple yet culturally disruptive thought that reframes everyday negligence. Not as a small oversight, but as an open invitation created by our own habits. “Machhar Hai Mehmaan Nahi” simplified a complex public health issue into a culturally resonant behavioural cue. Because the fight against mosquito-borne diseases is not just medical. It is behavioural.
