Manju and her cow Lakshmi share a bond like sisters. Manju takes care of Lakshmi and confronts her deepest desires in front of Lakshmi believing that she understands everything. Manju who is longing to become mother feels depressed when she gets to know from the doctors that she will never be able to bear a child. Manju’s husband Kanji consoles her saying that it will happen if God wills. Manju feels incomplete as her desire to become a mother is unfulfilled. One day when Lakshmi gets pregnant with her 8th calf Manju starts feeling jealous of her.
