A once-promising cartoonist struggles under a failing contract with a publisher. Pressured to abandon his superhero stories for market-friendly, critical themes, he accidentally sketches the publisher as the villain. Rejected and evicted, he spirals into despair and takes his own life. His assistant turns the tragic tale into a new comic—The Death of a Cartoonist—ironically adored by the very publisher who destroyed its creator.
